REFLECTION ON SCHOOL EXPERIENCE :
This was the last week in school after the first phase of teaching practice in Sabarigiri H.S.S, Anchal. First term examinations were being conducted in the school for all the students. As instructed by the Principal and teachers, portions were completed in all the classes according to the lesson plan last week itself. School seal and Principal's signature were taken in our record books as instructed by our teachers during this week.
CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
In this week we conducted our field study on the topic Drug Abuse and gave the students awareness class on the same. Substance abuse was the title chosen by us and it was accepted by Mary miss. We could understand that children were exposed to drugs during their adolescent age and therefore we chose our students from standard VIII for the awareness class. I was given the duty of anchoring the program and slide preparation during the program. The program ended with a short film named 'UNFRIEND'. Students were deeply touched by the short film and they seemed to understand the severity of the use of drugs on children.
OVERALL REFLECTION ON CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE:
We, the 8 teacher trainees assigned to complete teaching practice in Sabarigiri Higher Secondary School completed all our assigned duties and writing works this week. We are leaving our children with a hope that we can see them any time. We, unlike all the other teacher trainees are fortunate that we can meet our school teachers and students any time as we are in the same campus. They gave us many unforgettable memories to cherish for a life time. I had my first students here and I can never ever forget their faces. Discipline and teaching has gone a long distance from what we have experienced in our schools. The students teach us something new every day. They mould us and they train us. We,as teachers have only a very passive role. We just have to guide them to grow and learn in the right path. Even the primary school students are mature enough to identify what is right and what is wrong! From the very kind, very humble, down to earth Principal Shamsudeen Sir to the cute little boy Shano of Standard III, each one of them had a very special space in our heart for making our first 40 days as a teacher truly memorable.
